i’m thinking if i’m gonna post my nokia life blog here in my wordpress blog.. hahaha!
if you want to download a file from rapidshare however you’ve just finished downloading and it’s saying you have to wait for 80minutes..(duh!)
try this.. set your proxy to proxy.meridian.ph with port 8080..
it will set your wait time to a shorter one.. like 2minutes.. it works.. hihi!
today i’ve installed a new anti-virus program. i’ve been a fan of this anti-virus ever since i had a computer. it’s mcafee. i never thought that i would have to give a negative feedback to it now.
let me just give you an overview of the mcafee internet security suite 2007.
system requirements:
operating system: microsoft windows 2000 or higher (i’m using windows xp sp2)
processor: pentium-compatible processor 500Mhz or higher (on intel pentium 4 2.66GHz)
memory: 256MB (1GB DDR RAM)
125 MB Hard Disk Space (80.8GB Seagate)
800 x 600 or higher resolution (currently using 1024 x 768 32-Bit)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (i’m using Windows Internet Explorer 7.0)
basically almost all computers nowadays would meet these specifications. these requirements were met when i installed mcafee internet security suite 2006. i will give the 2006 version a 5 of 5 rating compared to the latest version. why?
getting f*cked-up on installation.
negative..
installation is very very slow. the sh*t doesn’t accept my old registration information. haller?! i want to use my old information! when i used a new registration information, the expiration shows 2081. the heck! i don’t think desktop pc’s would still be in production at that time. darn it!
negative..
i tried running yahoo! messenger. it doesn’t connect. i opened the mcafee security suite, email & im. what’s that? i din’t have that in mcafee 2006. grrrr! i turned it off, connected to yahoo! great, now i can connect. i was asked by the firewall to allow yahoo! messenger but i still have to configure another one. geez! bad mcafee!
how to configure the firewall?
in the 2006 version, you click on firewall on the left pane and it shows you your options. in 2007 version, you have to click on internet & network, click configure, click on advanced, then click on program permissions. it’s simple for me because i read. goodluck next year to those stupid people who doesn’t know how to read. haha! you ignoramus people! hahaha!
but i told you i am a fan of mcafee..
so i still have to give the positive things about this software.
interface. neat! great color. the title bar is alreayd black, in preparation to windows vista ,huh? it shows you if you are protected. you’re going to see a big check if you are really protected. hehe! easy update. it even shows a progress icon in your system tray. it has a site advisor, so even if you’re just using mozilla firefox, you would have any use for microsoft site phishing filter. again it shows a check! whew! it has a big scan button in the left pane. so if you wanna scan your pc, click on it baby! hehe!
well. i guess i just have to love this new anti-virus. though it’s not any better than it’s predecessor. that’s what a lot of people said about windows xp before.
if you have questions about mcafee security center 2007 / mcafee internet security suite 2007, just ask me. i’ll try to answer them.
another day..another day of learning..and today..learned something new on macintosh again..ha3x! ang babaw! well at least i’m learning an operating system which is really not common to a lot of people in PI..ha3x! and i can say..i’m beginning to appreciate and love macintosh..
it’s not that easy to use a mac if you’re used to the same old user-friendly windows 3.x to XP..it’s not a big difference once you start to play with the mac..ha3x!
considering that macintosh doesn’t use pirated softwares..macintosh cannot be customized..but hey, you’re not exactly limited to what the mac os has to offer, ok?!
so..what’s really cool about macintosh?
first, lesser viruses..
second, lesser complications, since it uses tested softwares..
third, easier to troubleshoot, because it uses legit softwares, the os rarely gets messed up..
fourth, if you mess up with a mac, there’s always restore..
fifth, if you have internet issues, you just throw the damage file away, restart the mac and..it’s fixed..
and lastly..there are lesser stupid users of macintosh(needs higher level of understanding to use a mac..ha3x!)..there are a lot of stupid people using windows that’s why it always messes up..(a lot of people think they know how to deal with windows even if they don’t know it too well..that’s why it crashes..ha3x!)
i’m not saying that mac is really better than windows..i’m just getting the hang of it..
note: you should have money to have a mac..no generic mac’s..rare pirated mac softwares..ha3x!
